Born in the heart of Florence and raised amidst the rolling hills of Tuscany, Gianni grew up with a deep appreciation for the beauty and traditions of Italy. His life took a serendipitous turn in 2004 when he met Sarah, the love of his life, and moved to the United States to start a new chapter. Together, they built a family filled with love and adventure, welcoming their daughters Giorgia in 2010 and Gemma in 2013. Today, the Vanni family divides their time between Italy and the U.S., cherishing the unique blend of both cultures and sharing the joy with their American and Italian families.
With over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Gianni’s passion for connecting people to the real Italy led to the creation of Undiscovered Tuscany, LLC. He envisioned a more intimate and authentic way to explore his homeland — beyond the hustle of crowded mega tours. With the support of his family, Gianni set out to offer customizable tours that reflect the slower, richer pace of Italian life.

Sarah is an artist, educator, and proud co-owner of a family business rooted in passion and creativity. Based in northwest Ohio, Sarah has always been drawn to the arts, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing from Bowling Green State University, a post-baccalaureate certificate in Painting from Studio Arts Center International, and a Master’s in Teaching Art Education from the University of the Arts.
Whether she’s creating art, inspiring students, or helping others experience the beauty of Italy, Sarah brings the same dedication and creative spirit to everything she does. When she’s not in the studio or working on travel plans, you’ll likely find her exploring new artistic techniques, finding inspiration in everyday moments, or spending time with family. For Sarah, creativity isn’t just a career—it’s a way of life, and she loves sharing that passion with others through both her artwork and her family’s business.
Meet Mirella
Mirella is a beloved member of our Undiscovered Tuscany family. As a skilled cook, she carries on the traditions of authentic Tuscan cuisine, blending warmth and love into every dish. A devoted mother of five and grandmother of ten, Mirella’s nurturing spirit shines both in her family life and in the kitchen. I’ve known Mirella since childhood — she’s been like family to me as my mom’s best friend. It’s an honor to have her on our team, sharing her passion for Tuscan cooking and her ability to create meaningful connections with everyone she meets.

With a background in foreign languages from the University of Siena, she brings both skill and a personal touch to every experience. As my second cousin, having her on our team is even more special, and her ability to connect with people ensures every moment is fun and memorable.

Miriam’s cheerful and vibrant personality brings so much energy to the kitchen, where she works alongside Mirella to create delicious Tuscan dishes. Currently studying business marketing at the University of Venice, she adds a fresh perspective to our team’s operations. As Bianca’s first cousin, their close bond enhances the family atmosphere we value. Born in Peru and adopted at the age of two along with her sister, Miriam’s warmth and loving nature shine through in everything she does.
